Jeep Renegade Power and Efficiency
There are two engine options on the Renegade. The standard one is a 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with 160 horsepower, 184 pound-feet, a 6-speed manual, and 27 mpg combined*. The lower trims can be upgraded to feature the 2.4-liter 4-cylinder that is standard on higher trims. This engine has a 9-speed automatic, 180 horsepower, 175 pound-feet, and up to 25 mpg combined*. Most Renegades let you pick from front-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive; only 4-wheel drive is available for the Trailhawk trim. When configured properly, the Renegade can tow 2,000 pounds.
Jeep Renegade Off-Roading Features
If you plan to go off-road in your Jeep Renegade, the Trailhawk trim will be the ideal option with its off-road-oriented features. It gives you items like hill descent control, tow hooks, underbody skid plates, a raised suspension, all-terrain tires on 17-inch alloy wheels, and a full-size spare.
